Women don’t talk enough about their vaginal health !
So let’s start the conversation. I found myself suffering with a mild degree of stress incontinence and vaginal dryness during my menopause, so decided to explore the treatments available. After researching the various options offered on the market I decided to try Votiva Radio frequency Therapy non surgical wellbeing treatment mainly because of the positive online reviews and testimonials of which there were many.
After further research I found a local practitioner Dr Hema Santhosh. I was understandably very anxious before having the treatment not sure that it was the right option for me and started to have second thoughts, but after suffering from very bad dryness and incontinence I needed to try something and I had to admit the reviews were good.
Dr Hema firstly went through my medical history and discussed my symptoms at length, before approving me for the procedure and explaining the process.. I walked into the treatment room and was made to feel very comfortable, I was given detailed information on what to expect, but most importantly for me , Dr Hema made me feel totally at ease, asked all the right questions on my health and how I felt, she also examined me before the procedure to make sure I had nothing untoward below. I was then led to a couch where I had my legs in the position of having a smear test where she proceeded to examine me to make sure that she could go ahead with the procedure and it was all systems go!
Throughout the treatment Dr Hema was sympathetic to my symptoms and customized my treatment accordingly, all Votiva treatments are personalised to the individual patient.
So what was the treatment like? A probe with a disposable attachment is inserted into the vagina (which was covered in a lubricant ) called the Forma V, rather like an ultrasound probe but thinner and which became quite warm, apparently the perfect temperature for this treatment is 41 – 42 degrees the probe is moved back and forth in a rotating motion to make sure she was hitting all the walls of the vaginal canal. I felt that there was tingling sensation but it did not hurt at all , the only way I could describe it was a scratchy , tingling sensation.
Towards the end of the treatment the probe was taken out and massaged on the labia area and I could feel them being plumped which continued after the treatment. I was pleased as on inspection my labia looked plumped up .. Halleluyah .
The clinic recommends at least 3 treatments but I can honestly say felt a difference straight away .
I would highly recommend this treatment to anyone who is going through dryness and stress incontinence, I always say prevention is better than cure! And especially if a surgical intervention is avoided. I personally would recommend the Votiva treatment and so would my husband..
Votiva is an effective non surgical treatment for the following conditions:.
